I'm sure you won't bore us, whatever you play! As long as you are as enthousiastic as I've seen you here in Holland :-)

Although my humble opinion does not matter:

If not released by the time of a concert, I would start with a maximum of three new songs as the - by then not informed audience - would stick to listening instead of "moving along", which definitely is not the purpose of going to any pop-concert ....

On the other hand, if the songs are good ... the risk of every entertainer, isnt it?

I think I'll stick to Anne's number above.

and I believe everything depends on whether it's six months left until the release or three weeks. there are other artists who play unreleased songs live just to test them out. Damien Rice does that a lot and he hasn't released anything in soon five years. Ingrid Olava happens to do it too - the only difference is that Damien Rice's audience often are recording those new songs. :)

Thea is right: Dangerous people, those bootleggers!

Ha! I'd say.. 5?

I would say 2 , with 3 being the maximum and including a new song you've already performed live such as Homeless or No Illusions.

Really not more, even though I am sure we all would love to hear every new song, in my opinion i like to hear songs live better when i already know them. Especially because live songs sound different then when on the album.

When you played I'm In Love for the 1st time live I liked it but it didn't get me. After hearing the album version I really started to appreciate it much more.

The trick is not to make it LOOK like an album promotion. A small 'teaser' of one song would do more good than to play a bunch of them.

I would say 2 or 3 new songs. I always prefer to know the songs that are played, so that's why I think 2 or 3.

ehhmm I think 5 unreleased songs is ok? :) because your older songs also rock and I'd still love to hear all my favourites :) and once your album is out, I'll be addicted to your new songs and then you MUST play a lot of new songs live :) hehehe <3

Sometimes I have a problem with songs that are played for the first time at concerts. When someone performs a new track at a concert and I like it I look for it on youtube. I listen to it thousand times till the album comes out. Sometimes the studio version disappoints me because its sooo different compared to live version. I had this problem with Power Trip Ballad (i sooo loved the whopppppa in the live version) and Cause and Effect (the live version is way faster and you sang it with more energy and power on stage).

At concerts I've most enjoyed have been where artitsta to sing the songs that feel over and the most identified, it is transmitted and noticeable, I would include My Lullaby and Just Hold Me. congratulations on your work.

One of my other most liked bands is used to do some inkognito-concerts some months before they start a new tour. They use a name that only big fans are able to regognize, so they get a feedback in advance of a tour and are able to change the setlist for the final tour :-).

But to answer your question: Not too much, just two or three songs. If you dont announce them on stage, your audience will be very surprised. I like it when bands are doing this :-).

Maria,3 unreleased songs.I like it both, because a new song live, sounds the next time better at home but singing along with older songs is great to do too
